Todwick Village Hall

97-year-old Sheffield artist Joyce Spurr has decided to sell off her life-long collection of her own paintings.

Over 200 framed paintings covering a range of interesting subjects – nudes, Sheffield scenes including industrial scenes, various locations around the UK and Europe. Joyce uses watercolours, acrylic, oil, pastels, polymer and ink in her works of art.

As well as having a large studio Joyce also had her own workshop in which she made her own frames which complement the pictures.

The prices for the pieces of art are offered at very attractive prices – Joyce would like others to enjoy her pictures and share her passion for art.

There is also a collection of unframed pieces of art – offered also at very attractive prices. Here is your chance to own a local artist’s delightful piece of art.

Joyce has already had 12 pieces of art accepted by Sheffield Art galleries including the spectacular “After the All Clear – Sheffield Blitz 1940”.

During her working life Joyce was Deputy Head of Sheffield Libraries Commerce, Science and Technology, followed by an appointment for many years as Head of Information Services at United Steel Ltd, Swinden Laboratories, Moorgate, Rotherham.

We celebrate Harvest Festival on Sunday, 30 September 2018 at 10.30 am in Todwick Church, and everyone is welcome to this special service of thanksgiving. We are called to care for those in need, which is why we shall be collecting tinned and packet food, as well as toiletries and unwanted, good quality, clothing for the Archer Project in Sheffield.

We have special collections at Harvest Festival, but our collections go on throughout the year, and items may be left in the church porch for onward distribution. During the service we shall also be holding a collection for Water Aid, who work on clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene projects in parts of the world that don’t already have them.
