19/05 STRATEGY FOR THE RECREATION GROUND

More work has been carried out on the Pavilion and the car parking bays are now fully marked out and are being used by visitors. Double yellow lines have also been painted next to the Pavilion and a "No Parking Beyond this Point" sign is to be erected.

EN had received a complaint from Tony Rusling about car parking at the bottom of Goosecarr Lane on Saturday morning the 13th November, whilst the junior football games were taking place. PC said that all notices and correspondence given out to club members stressed the need for responsible parking as well as pointing out that no dogs were allowed on the recreation ground. DG said that this was as much as the club could be expected to do and the parking of cars illegally was a police matter and should be reported to them.

DG reported that Harthill Cricket Team would be using the cricket pitch next year. Various new items had been placed in the Pavilion to facilitate tidying up following its use and PC requested a waste bin.

EN had suggested that a water heater be installed in the Pavilion to avoid having the need to use kettles and plug in boilers. Costs for this are to be sought.

19/06 ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Cricket Club

LW told the meeting that at home games during the Summer when there had been a crossover with junior football, little girls had been coming into the Pavilion to use the toilets whilst cricketers were getting changed. She asked that in future any little girls wishing to use the toilets during cricket matches be accompanied by an adult. It is hoped that crossovers can be avoided in future but it may not always be possible. LW also complained that at times football training was going on over the finish time of 12 o'clock.

LW reported that the Cricket Club were hoping to remove the remainder of their items from the old container on Sunday the 21st November. This will be subject to the proper help being available on the day. The old wooden tables which were being stored were considered to be of no use and should be thrown away. The chairs are to be stored in the new container.

DG asked that football equipment should be stored to the right of the container to allow for cricket equipment to be stored on the left.

DG talked about the possibility of grants becoming available for sports facilities in towns and villages following on from the Olympics, and asked that everyone monitor the situation to make sure Todwick does not miss out on any finance which may be available to us.

DG asked the meeting to let him have numbers of people now using the recreation ground for football and cricket, so that the information could be included in The Informer.

The Meeting was concluded at 7.40 p.m.

THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE ON THE 19th JANUARY 2011
