Todwick Neighbourhood Watch Newsletter

Issue 1 - January 2007

Todwick Neighbourhood Watch Scheme has been operating in the village for almost 6 months and approximately 245 households signed onto the scheme.

Benefits from belonging to the village scheme:

  • You will be eligible to apply to your home insurance provider for a discount on your premium.
  • A home security starter pack containing useful advice leaflets on crime prevention and related issues together with a free "UV" marker pen will be given to you.
  • Quarterly newsletters will be sent to keep you informed and up to date with what is happening in the village.
  • Interim newsletters will also be produced, as and when required, especially if there is a local issue of which you should be aware.

Later this year we will be sending out details of how you can get a free fire safety check provided by the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Todwick Parish Council has agreed to pay the £1 per household towards the running costs of our village scheme. This means you pay nothing - it is completely free. All we ask is that you complete a form - please contact Norman using the details below.

If you can spare about half an hour every 3 months - the timing to suit you - to deliver the newsletters and act as a co-ordinator for a number of homes near where you live, we would like to hear from you. The number of homes depends on you. There is no cold calling involved. There are no monthly meetings to attend. If you are interested, please let us know and we will be pleased to tell you more without any obligation on you part.

Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you to the Todwick Neighbourhood Watch.
